The School of The Georgia Ballet is a leading ballet institution in Georgia, dedicated to classical training, performance, and community engagement. Under the direction of Ashleyanne Hensley, the school offers classes for students ages 3 and up, taught by distinguished faculty of ballet professionals from around the globe. The curriculum focuses on strong technique, proper placement, musicality, and artistry.

Primary Division

Young Dancers aged 3 - 5

Young dancers, ages 3 to 5, start their journey in the Primary Ballet Division, where they learn the basics of dance and creative movement.

Recreational Division

Students Aged 7-12

Welcoming students who wish to learn or continue their dance education in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, without the pressures of a pre-professional track.

Pre-Professional Division

Students aged 9+

Students may audition for the Pre-Professional Ballet Division, an accelerated program for those committed to pursuing ballet seriously. Depending on their skill level, students train 3-7 times a week. Many are accepted into elite summer programs worldwide with scholarships and achieve top honors at regional competitions like Youth America Grand Prix.

Conservatory

Students Aged 10 and up

Conservatory programs provide a unique opportunity for students to receive an accelerated and diverse dance curriculum during the daytime. Students will train 3 hours a day during the week, with optional additional hours on Saturdays or during the evening. They will also be afforded the opportunity to perform with The Georgia Ballet Professional Company and compete at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and/or Universal Ballet Competition (UBC).

 

Students must have  1-2 years of pointework and intermediate and advanced levels may audition.  You must be in the audition for consideration of scholarship and a spot in the 2025/26 Program.

The Conservatory program is led in conjunction with Faculty members Lauri Worrill-Biggs, Margit Peguero, Daet Rodriguez, Ashleyanne Hensley and Lex Everett.

Boys & Men Division

Ages 3 - 24

Whether choosing a career in dance, musical theater, athletic sports or gymnastics, students will enjoy the benefits of studying dance in an all-male atmosphere.

DanceAbility

Ages 6 - 18

Inclusive classes that focus on building foundational mobility skills such as motor planning, body awareness, balance, and moving in rhythm with music.

Teen Division

Ages 13 - 18

Designed for students who want to train in a supportive environment while building technique, confidence, and a love for dance with a flexible commitment.

Ages 18+

Classes for adults that are designed to accommodate a wide range of age and physical skill.
